Vegetarian Thali in Canterbury at The Cook’s Tale

Where to begin

The thali arrives and the first question is a pleasant one: where should you begin? With a spoonful from one bowl, a little rice, or some bread to bring a different part of the meal into the next bite?

At The Cook’s Tale in Canterbury, our Kentish Seasonal Vegetarian Thali invites that kind of curiosity. Rather than choosing a single flavour for the whole meal, you can explore the plate at your own pace and find the combinations you enjoy.

A meal to explore

There is no need to know every dish before you sit down. Ask our team to introduce the bowls, choose somewhere to start and let the meal unfold. You may return to a favourite, or discover that a small addition changes the next mouthful.

Our recent kitchen stories have explored dosa, the Poda family and mustard. This time, we are turning to the experience of a vegetarian meal as a whole. The interest lies in what happens across the plate, and in the pleasure of trying something alongside something else.

Plan your dinner

The Kentish Seasonal Vegetarian Thali is £34.95 on our current à la carte dinner menu. Seasonal elements can change, so ask the team what is being served when you visit. Please tell us about dietary requirements before ordering; vegetarian does not mean suitable for every allergy or intolerance.

Find us at 14–15 Beer Cart Lane, Canterbury. Explore the current menu and reserve a table for your next dinner.
